Woooow ~ so where do I begin, so much is going on and has been going on I don't know where to start...
Recording in Jamaica with JAH CURE @ the legendary King Jammy's
So one of the BIG highlights of my recent adventures was traveling back to Jamaica & recording a track with Jah Cure, I am really buzzing about this experience & can't wait to play you the song once it's finished. In the meantime my sister Kyla has made me a lil promo video of the trip. You can check out my recording session with the Universal Cure as well as my visit to Judgement Yard, a photo shoot amidst a beautiful marijuana plantation in Orange Hill & general blessed vibes & niceness
All being well I will be traveling back to the island in the sun later
this month to shoot the music video with Jah Cure which is to be
directed by video director extraordinaire; Ras Kassa...bring it ooonnn!
Strange Brew @ The Big Chill Festival
Before I flew out to JA, I got some exciting news from the Roundhouse where Darius Malik & I have residency with the live music night Strange Brew in August inside the Roundhouse tent
I'm going to be hosting the night and performing and we've got a killer line-up which includes:
Plus a possible special guest performer... So if you're at the Big Chill this year,
make sure you check out the Roundhouse tent on the Saturday night...
We will be rockin it!
My 1st Headline Show Outside of London
Another blessing was being booked to perform at our first headline gig outside
of the Smoke. The wonderful promoters of Orange Street Music Club in Canterbury
got in touch and we had a wicked wicked night. Met many warm and open people
which is what it's all about
I want to shout out much THANKS to all of the promoters and individuals who have and continue to request my performance
at their events. It's a much needed boost, the majority of my live shows come
from people contacting me directly and it's still growing. Without people who are
willing to book independent artists, the new live music scene would be even tougher
than it already is. I am fully appreciative of the forward thinking risk takers who are
willing to push a positive vibe rather than the sheep who continue to play it safe
London Literature Festival ~ Free Benjamin Zephania pre-show
So I'm supposed to be holding off the love gigs at the moment and concentration
on working on the new release but some great offers have come up and it's always
difficult to say No! So if you wana check the vibe live, here's a nice one coming
up this Friday 10th July:
I will be opening for Benjamin Zephania as part of the London Literature Festival
Friday 10th July 2009

Foyer of the Queen Elisabeth Hall
@ The Southbank Centre
& it's FREEEEE!
If you can't make this one, no problemo as there are more coming up... Glade Festival, United Underground, Some Benefit Gigs & The BBC Emerging Proms ~ check the myspace every now and again for details...
Zero DB
OK, so... it's all well and good putting out positive vibes... and I am feeling really positive about things at the moment, but for me it's also important to strive not to forget the vast numbers of people who, for various reasons, have the ability to feel positive sucked, drained or stamped out of them.
I have been following the works of an organisation called Reprieve... "Reprieve uses the law to enforce the human rights of prisoners, from death row to Guantánamo Bay." Recently, reprieve has set up the Zero DB campaign which specifically targets the use of music as psychological torture in Guantanamo Bay and beyond. I urge you to check out their website and upload your own silent protest to support the campaign. We will be filming silent protests at the Big Chill.
~
I leave you with excitement in my heart, good vibes, positivity and determination... thank you so much for reading this, it really does mean a lot to me; probably much more than you could know.
Much Love
