Friends take magical trip through Letrim

The idea of a boating holiday in Leitrim among friends all started over a conversation in a public house in Edinburgh last St Patrick's Day.

It may have been pub talk at the time but I was adamant to keep the dream alive and started gathering numbers among friends in Edinburgh and here in Ireland. Before I knew it I had 21 would-be sailors to man three canal barges on a holiday that won't be forgotten.

Our group consisted of six friends from Edinburgh, one Californian Girl and 14 Irish. Among the crew was Aaron Main, lead singer and founding member of up and coming Scottish band "The Mannequins" and Fergal Murphy, Bertie Ahern's nephew.
