Current mood: confused
I can't even remember where all the time went. A year ago, I was in Japan for the New Year, and it's already come to that time once again. I had to say goodbye to quite a few friends during the subsequent spring and summer, and ended up working a job that turned out to be a complete failure and waste of time. The one good thing that I did get to do was go to Chicago to attend a family christening. It's a place with a lot of history, and was a great experience. Big cities are always an interesting cluster-fuck of people and culture, and going somewhere besides San Francisco for once was nice. This year's fall was an important time, in quite a few ways. I started the school year with a trip to Las Vegas (great way to hit them books!) for the biggest fighting game competition in the U.S. Incidentally, I didn't get to play that many games (and not due to my skills or lack thereof). Anyhow, I met many new friends and had a blast so there are no regrets there. By this time I was pretty broke, especially after not having a consistent job since before my trip to Japan. Thanks to my friend Lauren, I'm now working at Target, the best company ever! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGu6G7vHCAc) Right now, I have one more semester left at DVC and then I'm hopefully off to SFSU or somewhere else that will get me where I want to be. From there, I want to study abroad in Japan, and maybe when I'm done with my 4 year, go for the JET, NOVA, or whatever group to teach English in Japan as well. I'm absolutely terrified, but excited at the same time. I've lived in Walnut Creek for almost all of my life, and even though I will miss it to death and everyone I've met, I feel that I really need to leave, at least for awhile. A lot of changes are right around the corner. Let's see what this year holds. Happy '07 to everyone.
P.S. I'm sure I missed writing about something so yeah.
