And the summer itself is almost at an end. I've been taking "Beginning Piano" and "American ethnic culture in film" at Diablo Valley College (DVC) in the bay area. Both have been a blast and I'm happy that I chose both. While film was taken as a humanities requirement and because I like movies, piano was solely for my enjoyment. I'm 20 and have never played an instrument before, and now I can already read music and play some simple pieces, which is much more than I ever expected out of myself. As for my outside life, I've had problems with a few friends, or people who were friends (and now I'm not so sure...), but other than that, things have been well for the most part. My friends from Berkeley, SLO, Fresno, Davis, and other colleges have all been home and it's been awesome to spend time again with my high school buds. And I'm very grateful for all my new friends from DVC who are totally awesome. I think that I've been able to figure out more about myself and what I want to do with my life this season more than I have in any amount of time before, so that's very exciting too. No looking back now. On a side note, I usually hate these silly things, but this came out sort of accurate so...
