"Walk Right Up", a new seven-inch vinyl single from Verse Two member Ladi 6
(Karoline Tamati).
Again, this is the lead single from an imminent solo album, and again, it’s
the perfect aural appetiser to get your taste buds craving the main course.
Tamati’s voice has a sweetly nasal sound, much like that of American
neo-soul singer Erykah Badu, and she rides any instrumental track with a
fluid jazzy grace. She has previously shone in collaborations with Scribe,
Fat Freddy’s Drop, 50 Hz and Shapeshifter, and she shines again here, riding
a hefty one-drop reggae rhythm.
