Please do not reply via this blog or on MySpace other than to let us know you're applying - any questions or applications should be emailed to the address below, thanks.

Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School Glasgow is currently programming models and acts for 2010.

We require headline acts, second-tier acts, unique acts and performers with unusual or extravagant costumes or body types.

If you have a special skill or very unique look we particularly want to hear from you.

We are also looking for bands to play at certain sessions throughout the year.  If applying please consider this information; Dr Sketchy is a Sunday afternoon event with life-drawing set in a cavernous arch inside one of the UKs top multi-arts venues.  Many of our Art Monkeys are looking to chill out (possibly hungover!) so ask yourself this - would your bands sound suit this?  If the answer is yes then please get in touch!

Applications from all types of performers are welcomed regardless of experience.
Please apply with a description of your act, photos and showreel/act video links to sketchy@rhymeswithpurple.net

*Dr Sketchy is a non-profit event and only a minimal fee is offered for this event but travel costs and accomodation will be provided where needed.  There is no fee for bands but there will be an offer of a number of comp tickets and a rider in exchange for a couple of short sets.  Bands booked far enough in advance will also receive promotion in The Arches seasonal brochure.

Open Stage - At a select few sessions we also offer a 15 minute spot to get up on our stage and try out a 2-3 minute act before posing for our lovely art monkeys. This is a great opportunity to try out an act if you want to take the first tentative steps into the world of burlesque, cabaret and performance as our audiences are always warm and supportive. The Open Stage is an unpaid slot for the budding burlesquer; it's an opportunity for you to strut your stuff on the much sought after Sketchy stage. Not to mention the opportunity to perform for a large crowd. Whether you're a keen hobbyist, potential professional or just really fancy the idea of tasting a little bit of sketchy style celebrity for fun we are happy to hear from you.

To register your interest in appearing at our Open Stage spot, email sketchy@rhymeswithpurple.net

"Glasgow Dr Sketchy is doing its bit to revive a long lost art... That vintage aesthetic, so key to burlesque, is in evidence all around." The Scotsman

We look forward to hearing from you.

All the best for 2010
