She's in. And, she says, she's in to win!

Hillary Clinton is making history. She's the first former First Lady to take a shot at her husband's job. And she's the first female candidate for president with a serious chance of winning.

And, make no mistake about it. Here's where I differ with a lot of my Democratic friends…

If Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, I'm convinced she can win the White House.

Sure, a lot of people hate her. But a lot of people love her, too.

She's smart. She's articulate. She's done a good job as Senator from New York. She'll have more money than anybody else in the race. And she's tough. She'll respond immediately to any personal attacks – and she'll give as good as she gets.

All those people who say Hillary Clinton can never be elected president are the same ones who said she could never be elected Senator from New York. They were wrong, then. And they're wrong now.

You may think Hillary's too soft on the war. I do, too.

So support somebody else - because you can't agree with her on the issues.

But don't oppose Hillary Clinton just because you think she can't win.

Because she can!

What a wild ride we're in for in 2008!

Bill,

Can she win? I do believe it's possible. At this point, I don't think Bill Richardson has the name recognition, John Edwards is considered too much of a longshot. Now, for an Illinois guy, this is a tough call with two Illinoians (even if she does live in NY now) to choose from.

If Hillary wins the primaries, the democrats will lose the general election...noone else can 'mobilize' the right like Hillary can. We need someone moderate with a chance of winning!! we cant take another 8 years of tyrany... FOX news has alreadt declared her a winner and are foaming at the mouth at the prospect of her being our candidate...

Obama is liked by some conservatives. I think Joe Bidden/Obama is a more moderate choice....or Webb?

Kind of hard to win when a full 50% of America has already said that they would not vote for you.

Bill:

I strongly disagree with you. I live in one of the most rural Republican parts of central Pennsylvania and if there is one Democrat people here won't vote for and who they will unite against, it is definitely Hillary. Besides, for how much she is bashed around as being a left wing nut by the otherside, we can do a lot better. She is trying way too hard to appeal to the people and the media instead of standing up for real progressive values. She is written off by the right as being way far to the left and she is not even far enough to the left for most Democrats.

I think we need someone like John Edwards who actually is speaking out against the war and has a plan to end it. John Edwards is the only candidate who actually is not afraid to talk about the lower/working class people and ending poverty which Democrats have drifted away from. He's winning in Iowa because he's not afraid to get out and talk to people.

The mainstream Democrats who are getting all the media attention disturb me greatly. Hillary is just saying whatever is winning the polls. If Americans are behind Iraq, she's behind Iraq, if Americans are more anti-war, she's anti-war. She simply cannot be trusted by the real progressive Democrats. We can do a lot better. I am tired of candidates and politicians more worried about being in the history books instead of actually fighting for what is right. If she clearly had 100% sincere intentions, she would not change her mind about the war every week.
