Poor little Georgie.

Pretty soon, he'll have nobody left to play with.

Italy went home. Poland went home. And now Tony Blair says England's going home, too.

Of course, Georgie and Dickie say this is actually good news. They say it proves they're winning the game of war they're playing in Iraq.

But nobody believes them. They're just kidding themselves. Everybody knows this makes Georgie and Dickie look like idiots.

Even Georgie's fellow Republicans understand that England didn't really, really support Georgie's war that enthusiastically – no matter what Tony Blair said – because they never sent that many troops in the first place.

Even Georgie's fellow Republicans knows this shows that England succeeded where the United States has failed.

And even Georgie's fellow Republicans recognize that Tony Blair is willing to listen to public opinion – while little Georgie Bush doesn't give a damn what the people think.

The sad part is, spoiled, stubborn little Georgie Bush is still in charge over there.

Too bad Tony Blair's not our leader.

Then we could get our troops home, too.
Umm...ahhh...I forget

I have a question:

Is Blair pulling out because a) he has come to his senses and now understands what a losing game this all is like many of his fellow countrymen/women? or b) he knows something (a new Downing Street memo perhaps?) that we don't that necessitates the withdrawal of British troops for their safety?

Is there an Iranian factor at play here?

I, too, worry about the Iran situation which, with Goofball George still in charge, could happen before he leaves. I feel sorry for his hopefully Democratic successor, who will be the one stuck sorting out & resolving this mess.

I think Tony is starting to think about his legacy and is wising up.Too bad George & Dick (whom I am still convinced is the real "President" since George is WAY too stupid to do the job) don't care about their legacies and do the right, smart thing.

The Bush Circus has even more problems....apparantly most the world has wised up and pulled their troops....they finally realized our problems will not be solved militarily.   I've heard countless neocons spit on Tony Blair for removing troops, yet the Bush Circus somehow likes to believe this a positive move.  If we're winning the war, as they say, then why are we increasing troops?  Their logic looks like swiss cheese. Thanks Mr. Press for all your great work.  Keep it up.

I think there may be a misconception about the withdrawal of British troops in Iraq. It is true that political pressure has lead to Wartime Tony pulling out of the middle East, but the troops are being redeployed in Afghanistan. I believe the Russians attempted something equally ambitious in 1979...

What I don't get is how the conservative media keeps saying " we are winning the war". The war ended, we won that a long time ago. This is an occupation. What objective has to be reached before they will award our fighting men and women the victory they have achieved over there? What is thier definition of "win".
