Hey everyone: Well, as some of you know, I write for EQ magazine, and I moderate a online recording forum for them at Musicplayer.com . One of our other forums is the "Collaboration Corner", where various different musicians, with a wide range of experience and skill levels from all around the world, often get together to work on projects long-distance. Well, the Collaboration Corner moderator thought we should do a project - write a song, get various people to contribute parts and then make a website, promote it and donate all proceeds / donations from the downloads directly to disaster relief. I thought it was an excellent idea, so I agreed to take everyone's submissions and try to put it together, mix it, master it, etc. We had people from several countries around the world who contributed to this effort. We've finished it all up, and I'm happy to say that we've already generated a good deal of money for the victims of this horrible disaster. All funds are being given to the DEC, a UK based relief organization similar to the United Way here in the USA. You can check them out at www.dec.org.uk, and you can check out our site at www.faceoffriendship.org - there's a 30 second sample of the completed song, and the full version can be downloaded for a small donation. If you can spare a few bucks, and you want to help, please feel free to check it out - even if it's not exactly your favorite musical genre, it's for a very good cause. . More songs (in various different styles) are on the way, and while I'm not contributing directly to those, I am happy I was able to do a little something to try to help out. Even if you don't dig the song and / or download it, I do encourage all of my friends here on MySpace to consider doing whatever you can to help others who are less fortunate than we are. It's a long term problem, and it's going to take years for things to be rebuilt... long after the story disappears from the nightly news, the need for help is still going to be there. Thanks for considering this! Phil O'Keefe
