Hi folks,
please hurry up confirming your spot because there are only very few places left before we are full "audience-wise", obviously this doesn't concern those that have already confirmed and transferred the "funds", or are about to do so.
the info attached below is not really important for who has already been at DUNAjam in the previous years but might appear interesting to those who already have their key as well, but don't worry, your spot is safe.
All others should contact me as soon as possible because once we are beyond the 150 people there's not much I can do and we are really close, like minus 15 or 10, (some are not sure yet because of flights, work etc. so those places might free up)
I have just sent the following to a few "newcomer" people that are wondering what DUNAjam is all about, perhaps some of you are interested
ciao

Hi there,
basically you have to consider that DUNAjam is NOT a festival, to get an idea of what DUNAjam really is you could immagin it being more something like a mix of a secret and safe version (without guns etc.) of something similar in a way to the "generator parties" that the scene around Kyuss, Across The River and Fatson Jetson where doing in the Californian desert in the eighties/nineties, and a "live version of the Desert Sessions" where every night after the gigs in the nature (that as you might know, each day are on a different location in the wilderness) we will get together in the garden of one resort and some musicians that are there without a band will get together and create something new or just jam ...also it is very limited, only 150 people, that's not because of some weird "elitist" reason but because otherwise it is not possible to do what we are doing.
Just to not get confused, it is NOT a remake of the generator parites or the desert sessions, that was just two examples to get an idea, to really get it you need to experience DUNAjam
anyway here's some more, DUNAjam is not so much about going to a club show or festival standing there and watching the band, and it isn't so much about the bands either, in fact it makes no sense to go to DUNAjam to see only one or two bands because everything can happen in the nature and it might even happen that one band can only play a reduced set because of external causes that can not be controlled, that's why DUNAjam lasts 7 days and there is no strict schedule of who is playing when and where so that over the course of the week possible inconveniences can be readjusted.
So basically DUNAjam is more about being part of the whole thing and the situation in which it takes place, involving the location, the spirit, the people and the vibe... getting to know the bands and musicians in particular situations and from different musical sides and all this can only be assured with a small and limited number of people.
Rather than being about seeing one particular band play it is about taking part in sort of "ceremony" that obviously involves good bands and more generally good musicians in a special environment and situation.
Still the costs of flights, accommodation, equipment and service for the bands remain high.
The 600 euros of this year are still below the break-even point so we are still in the investment phase and the whole DUNAjam thing is still in the making and not yet exactly where it will be later on, so this year is still sort of a compromise of sorts to keep the price as low as possible and actually affordable if you take it more like a holiday and not like going to a festival.
You have to consider the 400 € of last year as a real bargain and not as a real cost effective price, and the year before it was even cheaper, basically for free cuz you could have hardly payed for the accommodation for that money in the area where it takes place.
So basically what you are paying for is not a ticket, but besides covering your own costs (room, dinner and breakfast in private apartments or small resorts, more like a "farm" than a hotel) it is more like a contribution to make all his happen so that's one more reason why there is no real distinction between performers, crew, staff and the so called "audience".
An other side effect of the fact that the band playing on a certain day, and the secret location are only reveald in the morning of each day is that it enhances the communication between the people of the "audience" so after one or two days it is more like a big international "family", it might sound weird but that's the way it usually goes.
Even though we are in the middle of nowhere and right on the coast surrounded by mountains, it is not possible to reduce the accommodation costs for the people taking part, because in order to get away with the whole action in the nature and everything we need the backing of the local authorities and the people that rent rooms etc.
That's why it is not possible to allow wild camping etc.
I understand it is difficult to explain all this in words, it is much easier to realize it once one has lived it but still I hope you have got an idea of what's behind all this DUNAjam thing.
Thank you for your time
ciao

Hi, I would like to ask you why, the ticket costs much more than last year? I really looked forward to DUNAjam 2009 since last year and really want to go since last year when I could not make it, but why does it cost more this year?
