Sasch BBC - Setuper (single) - Plastic City
Sasch BBC aka Sascha Ries is one of most interesting and fresh artists of Germany's Rhein-Main-Area. With his residency at Loft Club Ludwigshafen he attained cult status and played at Cocoon Club, 50 Grad, King Kahemanema, Kingka Beach Club or at Time Warp. Between 1997 and 2000 he produced two albums with the hip hop group Noname Produkt and was appetizer for big German hip hop acts like Blumentopf, Freundeskreis or the Specialists. With his latest release on Hertzklopfen with his brother in crime Caspar he received great support by Richie Hawtin, Spieltape or Gel Abril. With his 'Catfood' track he set a special highlight in Kriss Dior's playlist of 'Plastic City Radio Show'. No it's time for him to enter Plastic City. With this nine minute monster Sasch BBC matches perfectly up with the Plastic City sound characteristics. Warm and laid-back organ chords go along with sexy tribal percussions and interconnected rhythm structures. It's dry, sexy and functional. With 'Flanke' Sasch BBC goes the more techy way. The reduced arrangement has its focus on the percussions, the beats and bass. Only a funny trumpet sample lights up the seriousness of the arrangement. Whereby the rhythmic baubles stay in the center.
