Current mood: blessed
I am part of a genetic study that is looking for genetic links to autism (chromosome 7 and 16 anyone). Anyway, these are the same people. It is acually several universities are involved, i.e., U. of Miami, Duke University....they are always looking for more families to help them on this journey. It is totally voluntary, no cost, no traveling, stictly confidential, and they come to you. Most is phone interviews with the parent coordinator and they will make an appointment to come to YOUR home and meet with you and get some blood samples, head measurements, etc. They send out yearly newsletters to families involved and you get a clinical summary of developmental interviews. The toll free number is 1-888-DUKE-AUT (1-888-385-3288). Please call and get information to help you make your decision. These are very important studies so there may be better treatments for our children
