Kelli called moments ago from Dallas/Fort Worth on her way to the CSFE Detachment located on Sheppard AFB. She's getting a 'weather shock' leaving Chicago at near freezing temps and still snow in piles on the base and landing in 85 degree Dallas!
 

Happy Birthday you old hippy!!! Tee-hee!!! You can smack me for that later; hope you have a great one, and tell Beth to give you a big wet one from me,, a kiss, that is... Kelli does look great, doesn't she? Yeah, my once 'Wild Child' is now terribly concerned with maintaining a proper "military bearing". She's so proud of herself to have made it through Boot Camp competing with other women AND men as well. She did great - far better than most. Texas for some 13+ weeks and then California for combat training. After that, most likely an immediate deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan.

I asked her how she felt about the thought of fighting and possibly having to maim and/or kill other humans BEFORE she enlisted. Her answer: "I don't want to... Freedom comes first though, for everyone. If someone is determined to f*** about with our Gods-given Freedoms, then I'm willing to fight. This war isn't about oil. It isn't about "W". It's about stopping terrorist, and so far it's working."

She was right. No attacks on America since 9-11. I wish it would stay that way, too. Sadly, I keep thinking about the Law of Averages. If they keep trying then sooner or later one will get through. Nothing is 100% - but our young men and women have done a damned great job so far!

I pity the rag-head terrorist that comes up against that little girl! He hasn't seen real terror yet... but he will!
 

I hope you had a wonderful b-day and anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What part of Texas is Kelli going to? Could it be Corpus Christi? If so I used to live there and it's only 3 hours from me, let me know so when i go visit friends maybe we can see each other, need to know how to reach her............... love ya cuz hope to see you soon.... am flying to the reunion so i won't be passing thru Mobile but going back to Ga. in September for Mickals's wedding (did I tell you she's getting married to a WONDERFUL GUY) not sure if we are flying ot driving yet but if we drive i will for sure get in touch with you on the return trip.....I know this might be a silly question but have to ask are you going to be able to make it to the reunion???????????? you know how to email me love ya tell the family hi for me
