was signed to Metalblade Records in October 2007 and released their
début album, ‘Awaiting Evil’ Spring 2008. Hatchet takes the roots of
'80s Thrash Metal and combines it with their own distinct elements to
present a sound that is fresh, yet familiar. Hatchet was quickly
welcomed to a fastidious San Francisco Metal scene and was one of the
newer Thrash acts key in resurrecting the scene- all but dead for more
than a decade. To be sure, Hatchet leave a trail of unmistakable energy
behind them upon the exit of each show that they perform which,
invariably, has turned the head of fan and critic alike.
Hatchet
went on hiatus in Fall ‘08 while the band searched for a new vocalist
and bassist, but are now back with some new and more mature material,
sure to leave any fan headbanging for more.'Signals of Infection', a
new track from Hatchet is a great introduction to what is in store for
the listener.
