I like Sony because of their PlayStation family and this is because the PlayStation was my childhood console. I used to love playing all different kinds of games, some I really love and some I hated. So I've kept going back to Sony time after time and just to point out; I am not bias in favour of Sony because I'll be the first to say “Sony... you fucked up” and I'm hear to say it again about the newest addition to the PlayStation family. The PlayStation Portable Go; It's pretty neat looking hand-held and has a wow factor with it's features but I think Sony has made a big mistake in releasing it now and I'll tell you why.

I've got the original PSP and I have never though about upgraded to the 2000 or 3000 series because there just the same with a few tweaks that don't matter to me. Then I watch Sony's E3 conference where they introduced the PSP Go and I was thinking the thing I liked the most about it was the slide-out feature but I wasn't too sure about reducing the screen size. Then I started to think, the idea of a hand-held console is portability to I welcomed the new change. Then I heard the console would have no UMD drive and instead use digital distribution through the PlayStation Network. All those UMD games I bought have basically become useless and if I did want to play them I would be forced to play them on my PSP 1000 but in this is circumstance let's pretend my PSP 1000 is broken. There would nothing I could do expect go onto the PSN and buy those games in digital form which too me is just a waste of money.

I like the idea of the PSP, digital distribution is the way to go as it helps bring down production costs and this makes it cheaper, for the consumer, compared to buying a hard copy but why not wait until the next generation of hand-helds that would have been a better time as it would be a fresh start with no hard copy of any games. I really hope that Sony's next generation of hand-helds does follow this method.

Hope you enjoyed reading
