My degree is in education.  While in college, the NEA stumped all education majors to join the student NEA.  I looked at its outline and refused to join...it was the most open and blatantly communist piece of claptrap I'd ever read.  Karl Marx would be green with envy.  I was the only student in the entire department who didn't join.  When I graduated, they handed out the NEA applications for membership.  Again I read their goals and refused to join.  The NEA stooges looked shocked, and told me that I wouldn't be hired unless I was in the NEA.  I shot back, "This is a right to work state.  It is against the law to deny me employment based on my union standing."  They looked me in the eye and told me that didn't apply to them.  They were right...the school district would not hire people who didn't first join the NEA.

They wanted to know why I refused to join.  I told them that I would never teach things to students that I knew not to be true.  The NEA is huge into hippy crap like the environment and earth day, and I told them that I was never going to tow the hippy line because it wasn't true.  (I had written a report for a senior level class on the lies of environmental scientists debunked by non-liberal scientists, and that research led me to believe that it was all a huge lie to manipulate people back to worshipping the earth, which God warns us would happen in the days before Christ's return.)  I told them I would never teach that crap--that the earth is being destroyed by man, anmals are better than humans, etc.--because education is the search for truth, not brainwashing or whitewashing.

You'd have thought I'd said I was Satan.  They became angry and combative, and when I asked them to give me logical and scientific basis for the crap they were teaching, they became downright livid.  I quietly and calmly told them that I had given them the evidence to back up my beliefs, and that I now expected them to do the same.  They turned red and called names and yelled.  I told them that they were the perfect example of communism--create an emotional response to disarm the logic center of the brain so that they could shove the lie in there.  (These tactics were studied heavily in the FSU beginning in the 1930's, and used with success on our men in Korea, where the term "brainwashing" was first used.)  Their anger that I would not submit was comical to watch, but to this day I feel sick knowing that my children are in the hands of such people.

Eversince my kids started school, I've had them come home everyday and tell me about each subject.  I would then undo the leftist crap they'd been taught, backing it up with evidence and our Mormon beliefs.  My children know that they are of the House of Israel, through Judah's little brother Joseph, and are constantly upset at the use of terms such as "occupied territory" whenever Israel and the PLO are discussed.
