Come to Bracken Library this Thursday October 23rd and be a part of Tech4U, Ball State University's premier technology fair and event. There will be dozens of vendors with fun prizes and free stuff, and interactive demonstrations of the latest emerging technologies. You will have the opportunity to attend quick clinics, visit with over a dozen leading technology vendors, and most of all - have fun! Also, stop by and find out about two new services for students - Google Apps and Exchange Labs. These new services will allow you to send and receive mail using your BSU.EDU address and give you more than 5,000MB of e-mail storage space (that's over 200 times more than in your existing BSU e-mail account) as well as blogging, chat, file sharing, and more. Along with this service, we will be introducing an "e-mail for life" service which allows you to keep your existing Ball State University e-mail address even after you graduate. You will also be among the first in Indiana to experience new and emerging media technologies like Surface, a new multi-user touch computer that looks like a table and works without a mouse or keyboard and interacts with cell phones, digital cameras and other electronic devices in ways you have never seen! We hope you will be able to stop by and participate in this exciting event and experience some of the latest emerging technologies. Events and vendor demonstrations will run all day between 10:00am and 5:00pm and major presentations will take place at the following locations and times: · The Digital Classroom - Blackboard Solutions in the Digital Classroom 10:00-10:50--Lecture, BL 225 Justin Beck and Dan Peters, BB Senior Solutions Engineers · Digital Media/Art - The Horizon Metatrends, What We've Learned from Five Years on the Horizon Project 12:00-12:50 Lecture, BL 225 (Presentation via Second Life) Larry Johnson, CEO New Media Consortium · Emerging Communications - Emerging Communications for Students 2:00 - 2:50--Lecture, BL 225 Matt Hicks - Live@edu · Games and Development 4:00 - 4:50-- Lecture, BL 104 Jonathan Huer and Digital Corps members We hope you can stop by and check us out.
