Memory presents three soundscapes exploring the power of personal memory to form identity, from remembrances of isolation and loss to personal liberation and freedom. The EP was recorded as a series of live tracks in November 2008 at Loveland Studios in Tucson, Arizona, engineered by Nathan Sabatino, in order to capture the organic improvisational aspect of Beautiful Bird's live performance.
