Last night I had to DJ with CDs! Oh my God, how very 1990s was that! I'm so used to the automated luxury of the laptop, I forgot how much you have to concentrate when working with old fashioned discs! There I was nattering away to someone when the song came to an end and I had to rudely leap away from them to start the next CD! Then there was the joy of trying to find the next track in the dark and trying to, woe is me, read the CD case! Then there was the song that kept jumping cos there was a scratch - wow, how bad was that. Ahh, the good old days. I know I'll not be digging the vinyl out for a Moorfoot gig. I can just see myself shouting to people 'DON'T DANCE IN FRONT OF ME! YOU'LL MAKE THE VINLY SKIP!!!' The laptop returns next time!
MJs is going well, if you don't know MJs it's a new karaoke bar in Attercliffe which I've got the residential for and there are four of us covering different nights for them. I'm usually there on Thursday nights. If you're reading this and fancy seeing me in a totally different context and either wanna hear me sing or want to tickle your own vocal chords, get yourself down for a giggle. They've got Boddingtons on at £1.50 a pint at the moment. Hic!
Johnny decided to Napalm the garden this week. Instead of digging out some weeds he chose to throw white spirit all over them and set fire. It was like something out of a sci fi movie with the garden ablaze! Now it's like Yellowstone Park - volcanic and burnt! What did the neighbours think?!
A small observation was made this week. When Johnny dropped a DMX controller on his foot and thought he'd broken it, we ended up in A&E. Why is it whenever you are in A&E everyone in the waiting room looks fit and healthy - almost though they're waiting for a job interview. This of course excludes the ones with blood pouring out of random injuries (of which there weren't any). I looked at them all sitting there, laughing at the comedy show on TV, reading the paper or just chatting to the person they were with and wondered what the hell could be wrong with them to warrant them sitting there in A&E. If you were one of them, let me know what your aiment was?
