Well, it's been quite a while since our last blog for a number of reasons...
Firstly we've been having a bit of time out after helping to organise Bradford Music Week in May. Then, since producing the latest edition of mono we have been thinking hard about the future of the fanzine. And in that vein we have an important announcement to make: there will not be another printed edition of mono fanzine.
SHOCK HORROR!
But don't cry, it is not the end.
You may now be asking: "Why have you chosen to do this?"
Well, for various reasons: like we think the function of the paper zine has run it's course; we all now have other demands on our time, new projects and the like; and all things must pass. It's time to move on.
So the issue out there now with Lightspeed Champion on the front is the last one, if you haven't got one you may still be able to find one if you look hard enough. Alternatively we have a few amongst our back issues which are for sale on our myspace at £1.50 each with a free badge and free UK P&P. Wow.
Look out for mono related events, a new website and hopefully some other creative ideas bundled along with it in the future www.monomusic.co.uk
Secondly, we aim to kick off the BD1 LiVE events at St George's Hall for a 4 month spree starting in September up until Christmas. So keep your mincers open for exciting lineups and more info about those at www.bd1live.com
Finally, one of the mono team is doing some of his friends a favour and putting on a couple of gigs at the Love Apple Cafe in Bradford. Check the flyers below for details on those and do pop along for a quality night out at a bargain price.
