Live, my setup is: 12-string guitar > pedalboard > DI, or, occasionally, a small amp to be miked up.
When I am accompanied onstage by Darren Reynolds, he has a contrabass fitted with a pickup which also usally runs to DI, or, on occasion, an amp also to be miked up.
I sing. So, I need a mic.
I sit as I play, and a low seat is preferred so I can reach the pedals by hand and feet. The small amp sits at my left. My vocal mic stand is to the right of me, "swung in" at an angle to me.
Other than that, it's all pretty straightforward!
