I found out last night an old friend of mine was killed yesterday,
 in a work-related accident.
I've known him for 14-15yrs,
 we were once upon a time,
 like brothers
hot and cold, up n down
completely trusting,
and trustworthy.
I have seen him only a couple of times in the last 15 months,
 due to a stupid disagreement that happened so long ago now.

The last time we spoke we argued.

I kept intending to catch up and clear the air
I always planned to call him.......
His name came up in a conversation just the other night,
the opportunities were everywhere,
giving me the hints to call him,
make contact......
But I ignored them all,
 because there would be a better time.......

There never would be a better time now...

The best time to sort that out is now,
don't wait for the better time that may never arrive.
NOW

I'm going to miss you Dave,
I am sorry for never reaching out to make contact again.
