Ahhhh, back on the road.  There's nothing quite like it.  With every mile your worries become lighter, your head becomes a little clearer and finally, you're on 'road time'.  It's much more laid back, if you do it right, and the only attitude that works is the take-it-as-it comes attitude.  Listen to yourself, the road and the seemingly 'random' people you run into because they all have something important to tell you.... and they're always right.

This trip really began with our gig at Jefferson Barracks Park for the Blues on the Mississippi series friday night.  We had the honor and good fortune to play with Tom Maloney on bass, Matt Murdick on keys and Brian Casserly and Dawn Weber on horns! WTF! It was awesome! Everyone played and sweated their asses off and the crowd was great. I hope we get to do that gig again. So much fun.

Saturday afternoon Jerm and I drove to Columbia, MO to play a wedding party.  Adam Andrews and Big Mike Aguirre met us there for the gig.  It was such a fun gig.  You never know what private gigs are gonna be like.  Folks could be assholes or even worse, request Mustang Sally!  But these folks were all-around great people.  Thanx to The Love Family, Nora and Matt and everyone else we met.  What a great circle of friends and family you have.  Congrats and best of luck to you all!

J and I hauled ass from Columbia, MO sunday morning to Sunrise Beach, MO to play at Captain Ron's from 2-6.  It was a laid back gig, beautiful day, and hot as fuck! We were drenched when we left, but we wanted to make time so we got right in the car and made way for Fairplay, Colorado!

Which is where I sit and write to you now.  It's a gorgeous day. The sun just came back out after hiding from a cloud and sprinkling a little on us.  It's a lovely 67 degrees which, at this altitude (9,953ft) feels like 77.  We're at our buddy Phil and Ashley's house, listening to some old Bennie Smith Jeremy got from Sharon Foehner... drinkin Blue Moon, feelin groovy.

Tonight we play in Dillon where the everybody knows your name.  It should (if history is any indication) be a fantabulous, drunk night.  Calla Inn, HO!  Show starts at 9. If yer in the vicinity, come by and have a drink.

And that's all for now.  I will, I said, I WILL keep track of this trip on the blog so comment to let me know yer reading it.  Give me SOME sense of purpose, would ya?

Til next time.
