En eerlijk gezegd verbaast het ons wel een beetje, dat ze met die twee platen nog geen grotere naambekendheid wist te bewerkstelligen. Met haar zowel een weinig aan acts als de Be Good Tanyas en Gillian Welch refererende, als bij alternatieve folkies genre Iron & Wine, Hem en The Innocence Mission aanleunende liedjes lijkt ze immers alle troeven in handen te houden, die vereist zijn om tot zelfs in Europa toe een vaste waarde te kunnen worden binnen de indiescène. Met haar charmante, enigszins breekbare stem schurkt ze beurtelings behaaglijk tegen akoestische en elektrische gitaren, synthesizer, keyboards, banjo, pedal steel, fluiten en cello. Het resultaat is een plaat, die hier de komende weken tegen een achtergrond van naar goede jaarlijkse gewoonte weer prachtig verkleurende en door de wind meegevoerde bladeren nog aardig vaak als soundtrack zal mogen fungeren. Als er immers al één ding is, dat je over deze muziek zeker kwijt mag, dan is het wel, dat ze nogal herfstig aandoet. Ze doet je als het ware nu al verlangen naar de gezellige warmte van een zacht knetterende open haard. Een lekker glaasje binnen handbereik, een goed boek in de buurt en genieten maar… Het zijn prettige vooruitzichten!
