Whut Up my people...sorry im been gone so long but a hard workin man like myself gotta make these records so that you the listener can be fed some pure uncut raw hip hop tha way itz supposed to be cooked. Not only that, I have been bacc on the road with SCION doin some DJ gigs....First I did Wash. D.C. , St. Louis, and Detroit. As usual, the shows were bangin and I followed it up rite here in Brooklyn at the Triple Crown Bar....That was like a concert, the crowd was lined up around the door and I was blown away by the amount of love and respect I received for getting my scratch, cut, and mix on..Big up to Jeru The Damaja who was there for a few to checc thangs out....For all of you who had time to chill and get ur cue on, (Bar-B-Cue ...am I being too Black rite now?), I had to be in the studio finishing the last two Christina Aguilera joints for her album which comes out on August 15, 2006....Believe me, she made me a fan once I heard the album. No joke, its really that good..I did 5 joints on it and im proud of every one of them..Shes tha shit. Got mad love for her and her husband Jordy for putting me where I need to be....And Jordy gets xtra thanx for hookin me up with the recent Wal-Mart commercials that ran on BET during the awards last week.. Oh yeah, I do commercials too. Versatility is key in this business, and im all that and then some....Big Shug is also on the voiceovers for them and we still keep it HIP HOP when we get busy. Now, be on tha lookout for the new Blaq Poet joint called VOICES. Its so ghetto, that only real people can relate to this shit here. I feel sorry for the new batch of artists and producers that think they can rock like me this year and next year.....Im gonna be so strong with music(Damn!! I gotta take a second to breathe). Big up to Agallah who laced me for the TEF LP with a dope remix. He gave us a tracc years ago and unfortunately, Memph Bleek and M.O.P. did the same tracc by coincidence and we had to change ours......All good. Bleeks my man.BTW.....im goin in with The Mash Out Posse finally this coming week to start updating their album and getting the show on the road......Be on the lookout for my followup MIX CD to "GOD vs THE DEVIL" entitled "Tell The Truth"....I promised Gordon that I would have it ready by the end of the 4th of July weekend....I gotta start bangin them at least once a month....i love makin them still after all these years. Lookout for the new J. Hood joint I did called Never Be(well thats the tentative title)....New AZ-The Format....Big up to Termanology for the Hip Hop Quotable in The Source Magazine for our song "Watch How It Go Down". Big up to Statik Selektah. Oh and cant 4 get my SCION DJs that rocked with me(DJ SCENE, Platurn from the Oakland Faders).
Till next BLOG STAY REAL....HEAD UP, EYES AND EARS OPEN!!!!!!
WORD IS BOND !!!!!!!

Preem..

keep doing your thing premier...can still remember buying gang starr's 'no more mr nice guy' album back in 1989 like it was just yesterday...and 17 years later you're still helping to keep real hip-hop alive not only by working with known emcees but also by supporting the underground and breaking new artists...if you're ever looking for some exposure on any of your projects out here in the uk then feel free to reach out...peace!

Dope dope! I can't wait to check out your latest work! I had a few of your remixes as my theme last month and changed it just recently, but a lot of good feedback from folks who haven't heard a few of those tracks I posted of yours! hehe

And I also had a friend who wasn't too OPEN about liking Christina Aguilera's work, not because she's a bad artists, but I'm sure it's a masculinity issue! hahaha He was mentioning how he would NEVER put a Christina Aguilera track on his page until he heard that one song you did with her. I forget which, but unfortunately I didn't catch it before he took it off his page (or the page deleted the song). Therefore, I still have to check that out! Either way, your skillz made a believer out of someone and that says A LOT! And yesss, DJ Platurn is one of my fave djs as of late! He is madd talented! Too bad I couldn't catch you both in action! Maybe next time! Until then, stay blessed!

Thanx 4 all the inspiration and street knowledge that came through on your albums with the Guru. I know that sounds awfully white but believe me, your Gang Star albums got me through some hard times and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to finally tell you thank you!

Much love,

Hey Mr. Martin, Mr. Year Round, Mr. Always on the Go ...

The world is certainly your oyster. Triple Crown was a fab time (btw, you won for playing "Automatic" b/c the Pointer Sisters ROCK - RIP June Pointer). I enjoyed the brief chat, but can't wait to get with you for a longer session. I'll call PG for sure.

Congrats on the Xtina project. That's a GREAT look Mr. Man. I'm anxious to hear all that you're cooking up, but you left something important out. Why so silent about your solo project eh?? C'mon Mr. "Man of Few Words," spill the details! Maybe I'll get that info later on?? Anyways, here's to the future & all it has to offer...

Oh yeah, as for the "cue" comment, that's the Texan in you creeping out, LOL.

Peace Brotherman...

you know, so much of my adult life has been defined by your music- your "supastar" beat is my favorite hip-hop beat of all time (i own four copies)- and i can actually timeline my life with your music; how fucked up is that?

i just wanted to write in and congratulate you on your new run of success.. it's so good to see a man of your talent getting love from from a whole new generation. that "ain't no other man" beat is ridiculous- the obvious successor to "one thing" and "crazy in love". every old head i talk to at the moment is talking about your renaissance- it's just the best fuckin news man. but then again, to most of us you never went away.

Eyes and ears open!!! I read that your were reading Behold A Pale Horse....beautiful man.....u know the truth.....spread the word.....Big up to Premo for pumping the classic shit.

U rocked the Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam, Paradiso Queensday with Gang Starr (why Guru got to be talking after 10 years Gang Starr) (remember Betty Boop, the coffeeshop?), Utrecht with Big Shug! Got to get in contact again with Big Gordon for that Gang Starr Foundation tour.....Blaq Poet (the truth), Bumpy, Krumb, Tef (because he is still MOP), MOP (because they still bang Premo even with a GUNIT contract) and ofcourse NYG'z!

Peace and love from AMSTERDAM!

SK...The Greatest!!!

I'm SO glad to see you still out there doin your thing. The music has been so watered down, in my opinion because of the corporate involvement. Yes, they have all the money, but also their main concern is the potential income generated from a song, not the music itself. They make a killing puttin out cheap music that is meaningless, and hardly heart-felt. Where as Hip-Hop is the music of the people, of the struggle, and carries a message that can be felt by true headz worldwide. I grew up on this music, so I know what's real and what was just thrown together for a profit. Its important for the younger generations to know the real meaning of Hip-Hop. Thanks for continuing to represent.

Peace
