I recently rediscovered a silly poem I had written months or even years ago on a small piece of notepaper and forgotten about on my desk. The way my desk is marshalled, which is to say it is not marshalled very often, later papers got strewn over it until it disappeared under layers of other detritis.
When I wrote it, it was an exercise in what might be called called "creative rhyming." It was a poem written mainly to amuse, in which a main part of the amusement was rhymes created out of nonexistent words or words which are changed so they will rhyme. It's just one type of wordplay, and I LOVE wordplay.
Here it is. You will not wonder why I never posted it on my own blog LOL:
I once had a funky uncle By the name of Art Garfunkle. Art Garfunkle had bad carbuncle; And his feet, they really stunkle. Women thought he was a hunkle. Men considered him a punkle.
From high school out he flunkled Art entered monastery, got monkled. With other friars he was bunkled. But because his feet stunkled, They carried him to a lake, where he was dunkled, To remove his stinky gunkle. Which, miraculously, cured his carbuncle!
Today that lake, it is a shrine. The sick and crippled lakeside line, Immerse themselves, and they feel fine. Then they go out and wine and dine My funky uncle, Saint Art Garfunkle.

So how about it - the Friday Fling challenge this week, perhaps under the influence of some consciousness-altering ingestion, is to write a poem of short to moderate length in which one or more rhymes are MADE to fit.
Topic? How about following the above example and writing about something or someone unusual that you have encountered? Could be a friend or relative, or a stranger that you observed, or a weird or puzzling event, or even something or someone entirely made up like mine. Anything that you think others might find amusing.
Time again to unwind, let your poetic hair down, kick back with your favorite beverage and write something that amuses you and hopefully others! Be creative and have some Friggin' Fabulous Friday Fun!
When you're done, be sure to read and comment amusingly on your fellow Pals' writes. They want you to confirm their goofiness, too! And then go off and enjoy a Wicky Wacky Weekend! -Bob/Scotorum
