Another lost legend....
South Carolina born actress, chantuese, pacifist and "the world's most exciting woman" (as christened by Orson Welles) has just passed on.
Most of you may know Eartha Kitt by her stint as Catwoman on the Batman television show. Some of you may even have performed to one of her hit songs "Santa Baby", "C'est Si Bon", "I want to be evil" or the sauciest version of "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" I've ever heard.
You may remember her by her trademark purr, her gorgeous figure or her outspoken political views, but just remember her and honor her memory.
I regret that I never got a chance to meet her or see her in person. But she's one of my greatest role models. That grace, style and charisma. She always seemed to be a class act. The sort of woman that made me proud to be a black woman from the south and know that there could be more to life what was directly in front of my eyes.
You will be missed Madame Kitt.
"C'est Si Bon" to have gazed upon you.
