We had a show this weekend in the 30 years of punk festival, that were celebrated at the patiphone club. No other club would let 11 bands, mostly street-punk, terror it's surrounding streets, hassle the people around it, brake glass beer bottles on the road, or get heavily wasted in public.
Only the patifone had the balls, and nerve, and strength to do that. and we must thank DORON AND ZAIDEN, two of the nicest achza-corps arounds, for that.
Happens to be that apart from the "DEAD RABINS", a street-punk band that sings in russian that I think was around for ever, we are the longest lasting band that played there, and, yeah, I was the only girl on stage once again.
I thought this age of only-really-tough-guy bands was over, since lately there's a big change in our israely scene, and a lot of girls did the best thing you can do in a punk scene - form a band. but, not on that night, there were no pop-punk bands in the bands list, no emo boys hanging around. a lot of pretty girls did show up, but they seemed to belong to somebody.
I can't say that we, BEER7, are feminists. I mean apart from the fact the we exist , I don't like girls that much anyway, and preffer guys since they are reliable since they don't bleed from their little hole once a month. (recycling jokes is good for the enviroment)
BUT NO GIRLS? 11 BANDS? NO GIRLS AT ALL? is it that interesting watching that many bands singing about the same things on the same rythm, dressing the same outfit, drinking the same alcohol beverages, saying happy birthday to a un-lovely musical genre over and over again? well, that's the reason my mother murdered punk, and now punk is dead. dead at thirty.
