Fallover 24

Last week I rescued an exhausted little mouse from a train, fed it and released it in some fields next to us and last night  the biggest hedgehog I've ever seen was in the middle of the road. Dilema was you can't shoo a hedgehog, it just rolls up in a ball so I walked forward of it in case of oncoming traffic and watched as it scurried (do hedgehogs scurry?) back across the road.

creatures bring messages from other worlds... a mouse is to look at all the fine details of your life and stop worrying. A hedgehog is, gotta look that one up...

So what about bird, then? Have been waiting for Fallover 24 to ask that :).

Aside from that, I wonder what a kookaburra is thinking when it sits right on the highest point of the clothesline and Looks at me through the kitchen window. King of the clothesline. Maybe waiting for the washing to go out so can laugh at the lairy socks.

Hi Nick hope you are well this fine evening.
i'm not a bird specialist but a little bit of advice.
feeding the bird by hand even if he is ill will make him dependant on humans for his food.
he will forget how to forrage for his own food and will become dependant on you for it sometimes even to the point of starvation.
i did the same thing myself some years ago rescued a bird that had been got at by a cat i was advised by a wildlife specialist not to hand feed the bird but to make him look for it so he would not be dependant on me for his food.
might be worth getting in touch with the RSPB for some advice.
glad he's doing well though.
blessings to all

darren

It might have been a good idea to say your name. How can we possibly be expected to remember who you are after all these days. I thought:Oh it's whatisname, the one with those glasses, you know that one who has moved into the field of ornithology, oh who is it again??? Oh yes, it was something like that :).

hello, what happened to Rosehip? It's not easy to raise a wild creature, but you gave him a chance he'd not otherwise have had.
