The to-do list created for the release is immense! There is no limit to how much you can do — but the reality is that for each film, there is a law of diminishing returns on the publicity work/money you put in. And its more an art than a science in determining that limit. We have been given strict limits based on budget constraints as well the lack of mature marketing avenues to reach our young, south asian demographic. Despite the limitations, the work that needs doing is still large.
The to-do list will continue to evolve. Needs identified were along the lines of an assistant to the filmmaker, more volunteers for our street teams, PR/Marketing interns etc. Anyone out there who wants to join the posse, send an email to info (at) indiancowboy (dot) com
Day 1 was taken up by the to-do list, the release of the new website with the jazzy poster being used for the release (have you checked out the film's website yet? INDIANCOWBOY.COM it is), all the new trailers and press materials. Posters are on their way for delivery, and soon as they arrive, off they go to the theatres/etc. Large vinyl posters (6ft x 4ft) are ready and waiting as well as the 35mm 2minute theatrical trailers — both of which will accompany the posters to the various theatres.
