The haunting, minimal tendencies of UNA’s downtempo sound are enough to put you into a state of complete meditation if not for the gorgeous, soulful vocals of singer Jennifer Cook (also a member of an URB Next 100 pick, Elephonic). Mixing classic trip-hop with blues, Latin, and soul influences, the L.A. trio has been getting their due attention recently, recognized by CMJ as an Ourstage Pick, and a favorite of KCRW.
