The Tonics headlined a charity event on Saturday night in aid of Cornerstone Community Care at The Tunnels ( Yes the tunnels again!!) with support from the fantastic City Rises and The Maydays (originally from Wick).  Despite competition from various other events throughout Aberdeen on Saturday night a reasonably sized crowd gathered to witness The Maydays first live appearance in the Granite City! Having already played pretty much everywhere else apart from Aberdeen - The Maydays kicked off the event at 9pm!+ Before, between and after the bands Mr Yogi entertained the gathered throng with an ecelectic mix of indie old & new!+ Next up The City Rises - a definate must see for local indie fans - a breath of fresh air to the often jaded scene! The Rises with projector in hand delivered a set which many in the audience were comparing to the likes of Death n Vegas & Doves - playing a stirring atmospheric set, while images of war and atomic bombs shadowed them on stage!+ Then, following a particularly long day of waiting in pubs - trying not to consume more than was required to stand and hold an instrument and strut, but enough to forget the gloom of a particularly boring and despairing FA Cup Result - The Tonics took the stage! With an hour set in hand The Tonics ripped up a performance from the very soles of there shoes in an effort to remind everyone why exactly we had put ourselves top of the bill! And it seemed to work! It is without doubt, The Tonics played with energy and passion and despite a couple of early blips Moyes managed to get back on track and complete the set - without anyone noticing - we think! Well covered Steven, Billy, Nathan & Ian - a sign of true pros!! The night was an opportunity to give latest song Ricochet a run out fore the first time live - and it appeared to catch on - much to Chubs delight!! It even gave Moyes the opportunity/excuse to shake his hair and unleash that rather crazy dancing as he resurrected the Tambo after 18 months! Sweat from brow spraying everywhere! Nice! Mr Yogi entered the stage left half way through the set, pinched the Tambo and tried to encourage Ian to perform some shoegaze guitar stylee which he imediateley bowed to before Moyes ejected Yogi from stage right by the scruff of the neck!! No ones gonna take over our show!!!!!!
