THE BOBBY MCGEE'S
NEW 7" SINGLE – ‘L.O.V.E.’
RELEASED ON
TWEE AS FUCK RECORDS 25TH MAY 2009

Twee as Fuck are pleased as punch to announce their second ever 7" single release by the inimitable tweecore heroes THE BOBBY MCGEE'S!
Featuring three upbeat yet tender tracks from The Bobby McGee's upcoming album  L’Appropriation Bourgoisie De La Bobby McGee’s (out 29th June on Cherryade Records)
and with specially commissioned artwork from resident Twee as Fuck illustrator Laura Bell, this is a limited 7" vinyl only run not to be missed!

ABOUT THE RELEASE:

The Bobby McGee's
new 7" single:
A: L.O.V.E.
AA: Go Tiger Go!
B: Harold & Maude

The tracks all contain unforgettable melodies and touch on the pertinent subjects of love and tigers. Harold & Maude is about that favourite Bobby McGee's topic; the thin line between
friendship and romantic love.

More info about the release at www.tweeasfuck.com/label
The single will be available on Monday 25th May at all good independent records stores in the UK and on mailorder from www.tweeasfuck.com.

ABOUT THE BAND:
The Bobby McGee's are a band like no other. Formed by a Scottish emigre to Brighton Jimmy, where he was joined by a tender-voiced Eleanor and a classically trained jazz musician Graeme,
the group has been described as "Dostoyevsky Doing Skiffle!"  by Everett True (for Plan B) and likened to  "a domestic in a Glasgow boozer, but with ukuleles" (Rory Mackie, Clash Magazine).
Their live shows involve full stage make-up, candy bombs and a hell of a lot of swearing. Their songs are at once tender, angry and hilarious; a combination that has won them celebrity fans from Jarvis
Cocker
to Fatboy Slim and a comission for a Film Four advert.  Always the pioneers of the do-it-yourself ethic, they have built their own recording studio (the walls, the roof, everything!) and have inspired
a whole new generation of bands to follow in their wake; picking up acoustic instruments and setting up bands their own way. The Los Campesinos! song 'International Tweexcore Underground' was
written in their honour.

The Bobby McGee's line up consists of:

J C 'Jimmy' McGee - vocals, ukulele, glock, beards....
Eleanor 'bambi' McGee - vocals, banjolele and ukulele, glock, melodica, recorder, bespoke clothing....
Becca 'parp' McGee - tenor and soprano Saxophone, glock, saw, melodica, recorder, jazz wigouts.....
GG (Graeme) 'testarossa' McGee - Bass and Drum, tape echo, the rest....

ABOUT TWEE AS FUCK RECORDS:
Born in the Summer of 2007, Twee as Fuck has established itself as one of the best nights out in London, putting on the likes of Love Is All, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Comet Gain,
Slow Club, Hatcham Social and The Bats. The Twee As Fuck record label was set up specifically to put out its debut release  'Love Without Lies' by Comet Gain last year, and the
experience was so fun, the label is continuing to put out limited 7" singles from their favourite bands.
