Current mood:  anxious
anna hyde.now the bishop slides straight into the crossfire halt stop yell the pawns he leaves nothing breathing rook crushes the white knights war's what they were made for stick together it checkmate soon on the enemies side she begs and she pleads do what you want to me i deserve it all anna our hope our queen how could you deceive your checkered kingdom its broken king your broken groom its all over forever now the body of anna lies under cobwebs among memories in the corner of a attic anna won't be afraid to hide.

law of ruins.someone's daughter no one fought for haunted by a world that failed her someone's daughter no one fought for overcome by fire and flames so snort and snarl and bear your teeth this burning beast is just a child now you are fire you can't be burned but it won't help you forget you know there's no law of ruins as fire licks the sky and reflects in your eyes in the lake we'll hide the the black corpse of a lost forrest smoulders embers dancing skywards a perfect path of gutted trees and candle wick canopies bricks and mortar hold her tortured under lock and key but who taught her to treasure slaughter like an heirloom once all paws but she grew claws you live your life alight use your flames to brand blame on those who are to blame though we're charred don't discard if you escape the lake can take away your pain douse your flames.

snakes and ladders. always know where i am always wait where you are climb a ladder find a snake throw a four hit the floor skeletons make up the rungs of the ladders we're leaning against the moon climb off the world now we're climbing the bones of the bodies we'd rather forget

don't tell. i try to pretend but i can't suspend this suspicion for long make a map of my veins and take a ride in my bloodstream they say don't tell i'm sure they're here so sure it's their voices that i can hear one's lacing my lungs one's haunting my heart monitering my mind i'm making a plan but they can hear my thoughts start stretching out just like cables across the land one tears past i don't think i will last i sigh goodbye and say hello headlights

wear and tear. sneak into open casket funerals to stare at the face of a smiling corpse wearing her make up so she's all made up best shoes, favourite clothes blue lips new pose supergirl reads out lady's happy times wearing hopelessness like a quality she wished to be evergreen she dared not bare her branches to us you're worth more than just one line or a clever quip we paint pages with pretend hope so far so good wear the tear and i'm all yours

needles the miracle boy. faces of clowns roll into town on backs of trucks that carry all our favourite rides needles the miracle maker sits on the kerbline wearing just a silhouette needles shadow stretches stretched by the sunlight creeping out into the road in the background boundaries cage children dancing from the first ride to the last hide in house of horrors watch the roller coaster derail pins in eyes so we don't see the paramedic parade and sirens serenade this silent charade and with a fairground skyline the city looks on as the ferris wheel falls we're trapped in spinning tea cups horses escape the clutches of the carousel this is a routine rescue needles won't save us he is rooted to the ground his stretched out sorry shadow is sadly pinned beneath the rubber and the road we'll never tell what you never told us and four years can go by so fast meet me where the ferris wheel meets with the sky and leave all your lies on the ground

hide your headlines. get underway the bow is splitting the waves the stern deck makes for perfect moonlight dancing tired feet shuffle old hands rest on old shoulders you would never know the sadness of this voyage hide your headlines you're being paid to speculate the sea wrapped them in dignity don't take this victory away from them the vessel sleeps it's engines snoring softly the sound rests even the bodies of the restless this sleeping giant rolls over onto it's side inviting the sea to wrap it like a newborn there were no screams no panicked ever afters and the lonely lifejackets float on the water

no heroes. every morning the king wakes and climbs into his throne of bones can't imagine how alone your head feels it that rotten crown the kingdom is falling into disrepair and all that's fair is woven tightly choked by weeds and greed to feed on the kingdom's despair the roar of four thousand lusting swords the horizon swells and the horns sound one more boulder and your castle will be your grave in these dark and lonely times no heroes but every morning you wake up and you are still the peoples king and though monsters made of armour will slowly chew through your walls with rusting teeth and tongues as sharp as spears and hearts of solid stone though generations of your armies will fall you will always be tall this morning the princess woke me up her eyes are sore and red you bundle me up in a blanket and carry me down the hall your sobbing epitaph noble valiant gracious considerate you shuffle through the rubble and bone and place me onto that empty throne

autobiography. every page is a porthole as we watch them race across the rooftops their silhouettes will soar from chimney to chimney as they go casting their shadows on the awe stricken faces below all your adventures journeys and memoirs in your autobiography chronicle tales of sadness and splendor in your autobiography everypage is a porthole the city is sharp jagged and dark we were gulping pennies from the bottom of the wishing well swallowing their wishes with a greed i knew would send us to hell all  every page is a porthole as we dance just like ribbons in the wind

you know, these lyrics really remind me of some of the capn jazz/early promise ring songs for some reason.

is there any chance we could see lyrics to "pack it up, kids", "this soldier is not a toy", "together in the end" et al please?  i'd really enjoy this.
