hi, thanks for reading.
i would like to formally apologize for all of the bulletins that you have recently received from this account making tempting offers of free ring tones and naked girls on webcam.
i would also like to apologize for the bulletin that i sent out after the problem was fixed. In that bulletin, i ignorantly explained that this account had been "hacked." this is incorrect. the proper term for what we had fallen victim to is "phishing." phishers (phishermen?) try to trick an individual into giving up information like their password, credit card number, or SSN. the technique usually used on myspace is called "link manipulation." this is where you get enticed to click on a link because it says that it's going to take you to a page that gives you a free ring tone or something. but it doesn't. the page steals your information because phishers are really good with computers and they can rig up that sort of thing. yes, it's true.

so of course, for phishing to work, someone has to bite. this means that either matt, josh or brad (who have never been particularly interested in ring tones) probably clicked on what they thought was going to be video/live footage of a naked girl- one of them actually fell for it. let me restate this: you received maybe dozens of spam bulletins from this account because matt, josh, or brad wanted to see a naked girl.
in other news, we're out of the studio and have recorded five songs that will hopefully be mastered, pressed, and released soon. "before the end of the year" is a phrase i have heard being thrown around.
love,
jeremy
