If you would like to pay your respects, a memorial service for Eddie Bo will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. today (April 1) at the Mid-City Lanes Rock 'n Bowl.
Eddie, born Edwin Bocage, was a legendary piano player, songwriter and producer who released singles for labels including Ace, Apollo and Chess. He scored hits including "Hook and Sling" - 13 on the Billboard chart.
Post Katrina, Eddie, then 72, repaired his own roof with help from friends and supporters in the music community. Rest in peace Eddie.
