This is an Update: 3 pieces of news from
my Spiritmorph Studio...
1. This ORIGINAL painting is now available for
sale. You can view it below my signature in this email, but if for some reason

remember that when I opened my solo show at Bacchus in May 2006, this was the
image for the invitation and the cover for the catalogue. It "sold"
immediately, even prior to the opening, and I was very flattered by the many
inquiries for this original, which I had to turn down, because I thought the
person who made the offer was serious about the purchase. BUT that initial
"buyer" has disappeared: They did not complete payments, and I have tried for
more than two years to find that person, but there is no forwarding address, nor
email, and the phone number has been disconnected. I've patiently and
diligently waited -- and worked -- to find them, and now I'm putting it up for
sale again.
Some information about this painting:
--It is a mixed media collage-painting
--It's titled "Know Evil"
--I made it in 1994
--Its size is 4.75" x 6.75 "
--With the frame, it's about 12" x 14"
--The price is $375-cash, check, or money
order.
--That price does not include shipping. If you are
in a location outside of Western New York / cannot pick up the painting in
person, and it has to be shipped, shipping will be added (depending on location,
estimated at $10-30...)
--This painting is one in a regular project of
making stream-of-consciousness small works from salvaged images. Viewers will
notice the handwritten (my own) text and the twist on the theme of actions of
complicity. It has a special personal meaning to me because I made it during
the summer of the year my father died. Also, when I made it, I was thinking of
the relationship between personal loss and the destruction of the world; about
personal abuse and the domination of the natural world. This is the way many of
my works emerge. I think a lot about something, write about it, draw about it,
collect images related or not, and pull it all together, without forcing the
theme or compositional elements, and letting the muse take charge. As in many
of my works, the title in this one was given to me by the work itself, just as I
was completing it.
The first person to respond to this post will be
the person to whom it gets sold. I realize you may not be in a position to
purchase art, but I'm including you in this post because you may know others who
would be interested and able, so please feel free to share this!
2. I now have a facebook account. This is not
really "news"--I've actually been using facebook for about two years, but it
took me a year and a half to see the efficacy of using it for work and
networking as an artist and activist. I now have a facebook username, by

breath-takingly lovely, AND a powerful call to remember to RESIST, DO NOT
COMPLY.
