"A shining example of the talent on offer in the UK metal scene. If only
more people were prepared to scratch beyond the surface of the
mainstream, the likes of Achilla are the delights waiting to be discovered."

Jerry Ewing
(Classic Rock)

"...Musically balanced between Nightwish and Opeth..."

Metal Hammer

"If you thought the goth metal division was getting cluttered with bands who are just copying each other, then Achilla might just freshen up your attitude. They're heavy, melodic and have the touch of individuality that must just see them soar"

Malcolm Dome
(Metal Hammer)

"Presenting a venerable United Nations of talents Goth metal group Achilla includes players from Italy, Mexico the UK, and one extraordinary Hungarian singer in Martamaria, whos Guinness World Record breaking range spans heavenly hosannas to guttural notes bleched from the basement of Hell. Musically also Achilla combine a number of elements ostensilbly worlds apart. By the end of the first track here we've heard some crushing metal power, intricate guitar noodles, grande orchestral ambiances and right in the middle of it acoustics and a piano melody, yet remarkably it all fits without ever sounding like a messy pile up chucking in everything for the purpose of merely showing off. Go and play this to the elderly anti-immigration grump in your family; we should feel blessed to be able to count a band of these considerable talents as part of London's underground."

COMMITTED TO THE ASYLUM - FRINGE REVIEW

"The Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival is underway and The Georgian Theatre was the alternative place to be last night - for all ages. 'Committed to the Asylum' the goth/alt/cyber night where anything goes, launched by Silver Johnston of 'Enter the Asylum' the alternative lifestyle store in Stockton-On-Tees. [...] Achilla, fronted by Guinness Book Of Records Holder for her unique vocal range, Martamaria. The band's members come from all corners of the globe and this certainly reflects their musical ability and influences. Their influences include Ying and Yang, Life and Death, Fire and Water and their sound is very much a mixture of Evernescene, Nightwish and Within Temptation. This band is rich with talent, uniqueness and global influences and are certainly worth checking out. [...]"

"Christ! That's window shattering"

Peter Allen
(on Martamaria's voice),
BBC Radio 5 Live

"One minute she sings with a voice that's deeper than Marlene Dietrich on testosterone. The next minute she's giving out high-pitched bat squeaks loud enough to set sheepdogs barking hundreds a miles away."

Tracy Gayton
(on Martamaria's voice),
South London Press

"Razor edged Gothic rock from potential-packed five piece Achilla who are fronted by the soaring and seductive vocals of Martamaria and field a missile formation of paint shredding Gibsons and skin tight snares.  'Rich' has dynamics to spare courtesy of a classic main riff and is capable of burning its way by degrees into your soul, while the festival stormer 'Wild flower' is all set to capture the hearts of a million blackhearted rockers across the land.  Cleverly arranged and deftly produced, the guitar fest that is 'Fever' demonstrates this group are capable of mixing light and shade and illustrates how Achilla could shortly be on the coat tails of the likes of Evanescence and achieve major success.
