Current mood: pissed off Category: News and Politics
The words of the 1960's song were: "Where Were You When I Needed You?, Where Were You When I Wanted You?"
Today I ask the United Nations, the ACLU, Human Rights Watch, The 'Follow the Geneva Convention Crowd', ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, CNN News, U.S. Senator's and Representatives Murtha, Levin, Stabenow, Clinton, Kerry, Pelosi, Kennedy (both Edward and Patrick,) Mc Kenney, Katie Couric, Dan Rather, Wolf Blitzer, and many, many more, "Where Were YOU When THEY Needed You?" "Where Were YOU When THEY Wanted You?"
I'll tell you where they were. Safe in their own soft comfortable beds, in their million dollar plus homes, driving around in their limousines, bad mouthing their President for political points and persuasion among the weakest of heart and mind, or wringing their hands in anticipation over the possibility that they might be able to pull off a win of a few more votes if they could just appease a few more illegal's into becoming voters, or minorities who know nothing but hand-outs for NOT trying to find a job to support themselves, or an exclusive interview.
Not one of these organizations, or individuals lifted a hand or spoke out against the capture of, or the inhuman torture and barbaric killing of two young American Soldiers. Not one called for the immediate release of these two young men. I didn't hear ANY of them pleading for their release, for their lives, for their safety. Nope, they just sat on their overstuffed office chairs, bound in rich leather, and in comfortable surroundings and worried about how the expected deaths of these two soldiers' might gain them more political points, or interviews.
Folks, this country is "Going To Hell In A Handbasket." It's high time to get ready for the next election, and to DEMAND, not ask, that our Representatives and Senators show good cause as to why we should re-elect them, and to show good faith, and support our military services without bitching, or find themselves being recalled and voted out of office. Lets tell the U. S. Senate and House of Representatives that we are voters, that we are watching and listening, that we know what they are doing, and we don't like it. Not one U.S. Senator or Representative has a RIGHT to be in office. Not one has a job that can not be taken away from him or her if he or she declines to listen to ALL the people, and votes for or against a bill not according to the wishes of the majority of their constituents. It's time to take the Special Interest Groups, out of Washington DC, and the U.S.A. out of the U. N. It's time to proclaim that we are going to take America back and re-establish a government by and for the people, not just for a FEW people.
Has anybody heard anyone other than the President say they apologize for the loss of a son, a father, a wife, a daughter, or a husband? I didn't think so.
What happened to those two young men in Iraq should never have happened. But, the people, and I use that term very, very loosely, we are dealing with are nothing short of Barbarians. Yet, we have to treat them with the utmost respect. Excuse my FRENCH, but "BULLSHIT!" Those scum-bags don't deserve to be treated any better than they treat our people. They are sucking up fresh air that someone else could be breathing. They do deserve whatever they get that is short of a War Crimes Trial, hopefully DEAD, and an immediate hanging in the public square when the trial is over.
Can you tell that I'm pissed off? Oh, I am! I am! Boy, am I ever! But, I've got to stop here before I get completely off track and say some things that are personal, and directed toward certain elected officials that I can not legally say. So in closing, I ask you all to e-mail your Senators, your Representative's and tell them that you are very, very unhappy with their overall stance, and let them know what you EXPECT from them if they wish to keep their job.
Yours Truly, "Forever The Patriot" Richard W. Taylor M/Sgt. USAF Ret. (AKA - GUNDOGSNORTH)
