Hey friends,

I haven't used this thing in a long time.  Sorry if I've missed your mail or request or other thing - I started to feel like "The Internet" was changing the way my brain operated in a negative way so I've sort of cut back my use, it's been good.  We just recently finished our final tour "in support of" our first record and EP and now won't be scheduling any shows or tours until we're further along with the next record, which we've been writing but haven't started recording and probably won't for a little while now... nothing bad just gonna take stock and try and come back with something good rather than something just to keep the machine moving.  We do have two shows to benefit the BRIDGE SCHOOL in october and after that we're just settling in - found a new studio space to rent in Seattle that's been home to many great recordings that we're stoked to occupy and explore - thank you for your patience!!!  The Port Townsend odyssey was fun but ended up semi-fruitless.  I forget how to write songs.  Woohoo!

I also wanted to mention that brother JOSH TILLMAN'S new record Year in the Kingdom is now out digitally and will be out physically in the next few days. It's a really beautiful album and I think you will all enjoy it, it can occupy similar shelf space as PINK MOON without being sneezed at I assure.  Buy it! And see him on his numerous tours this fall and winter.

Alright, off.  Thanks dudes!
Robin

It's great that you guys care more about making really good music than anything else. Most other bands just care about being publicized as much as possible and making as much money as possible but you guys don't. For that, I thank you.

Hey Robin,
I know exactly what you mean by "the internet" changing you in a negative way ! I've felt the same way the last months, like the more time you spent "online", the more time you spent "cut-of" from real life, your family and friends ! So it's a good advice you're indirectly giving, to enjoy life more :D
I hope all of you enjoy the time off, and wish you all the best !
May inspiration come whenever it comes...

Robin,

Like others have said: you guys, please, take your Time. We need Fleet Foxes to stay Real, Honest, Noble, and to keep in their mind(s) that they have created a Place that is delicious and multiparadimensional.
Love,
Tony and Vyktorya

It was such a wonderful thing to have seen Josh play live at End of the Road the last weekend. His voice has a real power to it, even more so live than on record, like you say, kind of in that Nick Drake spellbinding sort of way. You feel like you can't take your eyes off him when he's playing, transfixed somewhat. Beautiful it were.

And it was also an amazing thing, for me, to be able to FINALLY see you guys play too. It was my highlight of the festival 'cause you're a band i dearly love, as musicians and people, and seeing guys like yourselves this year and Bon Iver there last year means a great deal to me. So thanks for playing.

My friend who i was supposed to go with pulled out on me less than 24 HOURS till we left and me not being the most confident person in the world, i couldn't just go on my own, so i was pretty depressed that i couldn't get anyone else to go and the thought of missing all those amazing artists that i was so desperate to see.

I ended up missing the WHOLE of friday and missing DIRTY PROJECTORS!! which was a killer for me. My brother ended up coming down with me, out of sympathy, and I got down there midway through saturday's line-up and had to leave midway through sunday's 'cause he had to be back for something, so that too was a bit of a killer. I missed SO many i wanted to see.

But for the time i was there it was beautiful. Dorset's lovely ain't it.

I have listened to your album so many times and I never tire of it - I look forward to hearing your next album but in the meantime I'll be happy listening to the last one!  Take your time - you can't hurry inspiration, it'll come at it's own pace.

I'll look out for Year in the Kindom.
