As you all know I am expecting a baby and most of you know that my daughter was born at 24 weeks. Well this go around I am catogorized as "high-risk," no problem because I know with that title comes a lot of drs appts and ultrasounds. Not a big deal. Well one thing that i have to do as well is have progestorone shots. The problem is, the one place that has them does not take my insurance and it will cost me $80.00 a month, I don't know about anyone else but I don't have that kind of money. So I found a place that I thought had it, my DH drove all the way out there (because no where near us has it) and they do not have the facility to mix the compond that I need. Urg........
So now I have to call 2 other pharmacy's, again no where close to me, to see if they have this progestoron and take my insurance.
The reason I have to have these shots is because it helps keep you from going into preterm labor. My insurance company covers it and they have a mail order program, however they no longer carry that progestorone in there mail order department.
I am suppose to start taking them this week since I am 18 wks and it is driving me nuts because I am having a hard time finding a pharmaacy that carry's it. I think that it should not be so hard to get, or at least it be provided to the dr's office so that women like me do not have to go thru this crazy mess.
