Daniel likes his dentist, and the assistant at the office there. He once told me how he appreciated how friendly and gentle they were. I agreed. They're very good with children, and I appreciated how they didn't push him with the xrays when he gagged on the mouthpiece. (He has a very sensitive gag reflex).

He did okay today though, and we got to see all the teeth moving in. So far, no sign of wisdom teeth. I had only one wisdom tooth, so its very possible he never develops them. The teeth are coming in straight, and no sign of cavities.

The dentist did mention some plaque on the teeth, so I bought him one of those battery operated toothbrushes. I really should've taped him when he tried it for the first time. He was making all manner of weird faces, and moving his lips to make the buzzing sound from his mouth sound even weirder.

I considered getting one myself but I'm not sure if I could get used to it. So far, I don't get cavities or plaque issues because I'm sort of compulsive with brushes 2+ times a day and carry dental floss in my purse. I really hate that fuzzy feeling you get on teeth, and I particularly hate stuff stuck in between my teeth.

I also chew sugar free gum, so its not a big issue to buy some expensive electronic toothbrush. Oddly Danny wanted one of the adult ones. He didn't particularly like the kid-oriented designs of SpongeBob or Hello Kitty. (Though I told him the Hello Kitty was sooooo cute!) They even had a firetruck that would light up when you pushed the button.

Some toothbrushes even have timers on them, to teach kids to brush their teeth for 2 minutes or so. Who would've thunk it that we'd have marvelous technology for teeth?!

You're apparently more evolved than I am. I had to have four extracted, and they had to break one to get it all. Then I was followed by family members who were trying to snap pictures of me with my chipmunk cheeks. Note to anyone who has to undergo wisdom tooth surgery: DO NOT WAIT to take your pain meds.

My doctor: "Hi, Robin".

Me: "YES I AM"
