All that Glitters: The artful expression of body paint

Any high school student or football fan can tell you about painting their face for homecoming or the big game.  But what if you took it to the next level?  What if you painted your entire body?  Then you'd have to go straight to Denver's expert in body paint, Kelsie of the Glitter Freckle.

Almost any guy can tell you, in detail, about the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.  And, most guys AND girls can tell you about the even more fascinating painted swimsuit issue they do every few years.  Well, Kelsie has taken this idea to a whole new level.  For the past five years, she's been body painting professionally.  She started locally at clubs and has worked her way into a national market that includes traveling shows and body art balls.  At first glance the end result is a bit shocking, but once you understand the time and effort that goes in you can begin to appreciate the artfulness of the paint.  The final product of full body paint can take up to 8 hours as Kelsie artfully applies layer after layer to create her masterpieces.  Whether she's in a club being sponsored by a premier vodka, or using her talents to create an intricate ballerina, you can be sure the conclusion is a work of art.

As the holiday season is nearing, the Glitter Freckle does private make-up sessions for any ladies who want to look extra fabulous for that upcoming cocktail party.  Kelsie also works with schools doing face paint as fund raisers.  Check out her myspace page (myspace.com/glitterfreckle) for a sample of her work.  Just think, the next generation may study body paint along side Picasso and Monet.

"Kelsie's work on our Image Magazine events and those of the biggest promoters in town at the best venues, adds aesthetic interactive value that is unmatched by lighting or video projection. Body art has been around since the beginning of recorded history and is here to stay with Glitter Freckle and the passion of other artist groups who hold the art dear."
