Ever since I got hold of Ghislain Poirier’s new Soca ep I had to get Ghis back on the show. Last time he was in the UK he crashed at my flat and we hung out for a week, he tried to get me interested in Ice Hockey but I wanna be able to see the puck like I can see a football from distance. Or maybe I was just too drunk! He jumped in on my show that same week and let off a load of tropical heaters waaaay before his album on Ninja tune dropped. Seriously, Ghislain is one talented producer / DJ. I saw him rock a party with the Heatwave guys and he murdered it when he dropped the soca selection. I hooked him up with a show at Fabric and it must have been fate since Shaun who books Friday nights was walking past a record shop once and someone, for some unknown reason, threw a Ghislain Poirier 12″ out of the door. It was a sign!!!!! I digress…Back to the mix.. This DJ mix was made especially for the show and is a great introduction to Ghislain’s music and vibe. He brings the soca but with his own twist!
