This has been a beautiful week. The Stringdusters Spring East Coast Tour was a huge success (especially Baltimore), the weather was good and inspite of a nasty sinus infection, I had about as much fun as I've had driving around in the van. The last two days in Nashville have been sunny and 60-70 degrees. Spent much of yesterday on my bike in the woods and I'll be spending most of today out in the yard before hopping a plane to California with the 'Dusters. We've got all day tomorrow in L.A. before our show at Boulevard Music so I'm hoping for some serious beach time. The show in L.A. is small but we've been doing some smaller shows on the tours and they seem to add a level of intimacy we just don't have on a larger stage. Tne show is nearly sold out, so if you have any plans to come down, go ahead and solidify them. Saturday we'll be in Indio, CA at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival. This is one of the largest in the country and it's supposed to be 105 degrees. We booked our flight home on Monday evening so Sunday we're planning a trip over to Joshua Tree National Park for some desert hiking then back to the beach for the day on Monday. It's more of a work-ation in a lot of ways.
The Book Beck Tour is nearly ready for announcement. We're still working out a few details but expect an announcement early next week. Anders and I plan to drop a bunch of stuff no one has ever heard. Martin Gilmore's record will soon be mastered, after that it's just a matter of weeks until you can buy it. We're really proud of the way it turned out, I think anyone who appreciates thoughtful songwriting and rootsy tones will love this record. I'll be sure to post up links to places you can hear it and buy it when it hits. Coffee's ready, guess that means my time is up.
