Well, I haven't blogged in a few days.  I was in a depressed mood from about Friday night after returning home from work till Saturday morning.  I snapped out of it later, thank goodness.  Now if I can just concentrate.

Before I started this blog entry, I wrote Chapter Eight of my soon-to-be beseller.  I spent much of the chapter talking about focusing and how I seem to lose it about as often as the Pittsburgh Pirates lose baseball games.  And how my lack of focus always seems to get me into trouble,  especially while working.  Sometimes I don't concentrate on getting my job done, sometimes I go off when I believe that someone has disrespected me, or if somebody performs a behavior that is really knowing (such as singing, especially off-key singing).  Dang, I'm talking about lack of concentration, and I lose it.  The irony doesn't escape me.  Gad, I'm not sure. I still remember Mom and Merritt telling me to get my head out of my buttocks (or words to that effect) and Dad and Betsy telling me to pay attention.   I think I'm too poor to pay attention. 

Thank you, thank you.  I'll be hear all week.

Well, speaking of working, I put my time in yesterday.  Two days down, two more to go before the next day off.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  I feel like watching another movie.  I think I know which one I want to see, "Look Back in Anger."  It stars Richard Burton.  It's from the British "Angry Young Man" era of entertainment media, which also includes my favorite short work of fiction, Alan Stillitoe's (sp) "Lonliness of the Long Distance Runner" (which became an excellent movie adaptation).  I feel like watching more movies now.  Maybe it's because I need some sort of inspiration.  Mabye its became I know I need some re-energization.  I'd gone through a long stretch of not seeing movies--heck, not watching TV at all, but withing the past couple of weeks I've seen five movies.  Of course, it does help that I had the previous weekend off and I was off Tuesday and Wednesday.

Of course, I'm paying for it (those who dance must pay, as Merritt was fond of saying).  I work Friday and yesterday, and I'm working today and tomorrow.  After my day off Tuesday, I'm working from Wednesday through Saturday. 

I will now write "I will not be envious of friends and family who have the weekend off" one gazillion times. 

Of course, some people I know have the rest of their lives off. 

Ahh, but the money is nice. 

It actually seemed to cool off yesterday.  It was still hot, but not oprresively so.  And it rained last night as I was going from Schnucks Grocery (Fortunately, I'd brought my umbrella with me!).  We could use a bit more rain.

Yeah.  Just about a week-and-half till football season starts.  Michael Vick has been suspended indefinitely for his involvement in a dogfighting ring.  At least he wasn't one of the Cincinnati Bengals.

I wonder if I can get a MS layout of the Bengal colors, black and orange.  Of course, if I did that, people will probably think I was a goth, especially with my ID picture.  One of these days I promose to get a better ID picture--really, I do.  That pic was one of me fooling around with my digital camera.  I hope I can take some more pictures with it.  I took some Friday.  Once of them actually came out halfway decently.  I should put in my picture display sometimes.  I think I have a few pictures I haven't uploaded to MS left.
