Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
We have all seen them, heard them. They are the stuff of legend. They are (cue lightning effect) the hipster rogues on the 6 corners of Damen, Milwaukee and North Avenue (cue police beating hippies with their nightsticks sound).  At first this group of misfits seems like the coolest group of badass motherfuckers to sit around and do nothing since NATO or the UN. They don't live with their mommys, they don't have to brush their teeth, they don't work, and they have their dogs carry all of their green duffel bags which we can only assume have awesome stuff inside them like the midget from The Man Show or a portal to another universe like Superman.  I had to know who these guys are! They must teach me how to be a badass.  But no... freedom has its price, it is not what it looks like from your air conditioned car.  If you walk up towards them, you will instantly feel the air change, not like when walking in the Fulton River District by the chocolate factory, but like when you walk back into the bathroom less then 5 minutes after unloading the 16 beers you had the night before in a toilet symphony of destruction.  The whole no shower thing seems like the first right of passage to enter this exclusive group.  Then when I approached them, expecting some sort of heady advice on living the street life, one of the bastards demanded a ciggy and when I said I had none, promptly told me to go fuck myself.

And so ended my quest to figure out what exactly it is that these kids do and why they decide to do it in front of the Double Door....

Hope everyone has an awesome start to the fall and for all you students starting back up, if you must drink on Monday, do it in the loudest and most annoying way possible, you only live once:

It Is What It Is
