‘St Patrick’s Hat-trick’  - o2 Academy Liverpool on 17th March 2010

The ‘St Patrick’s Hat-trick’ promises to be the quintessential Celtic knees up of 2010! This year will see a St Patrick’s concert with three acts that celebrate the very best of Ireland’s rock, traditional, and ceili music. Hosted at the o2 Academy Liverpool, the evening will feature bands at the very top of their respective genres.

Headliners Limehouse Lizzy are renowned for an action-packed pyrotechnic-fuelled explosion of a show, whilst continuing to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide. Two of their members were actually part of ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson's band, 'The Clan', which must rank as the best endorsement of authenticity.

Following the enormous success of their ˜Live & Dangerous” & ˜Dedication” tours, the band embarked upon their “Into the Limelight” 2008 tour to tie in with their appearance on the BBC2 ‘Arena’ documentary of the same name. The tour travelled as far as a headline slot at the Rhodes Rock festival in Greece, and the Virgin Atlantic Music festival in Barbados. Expect 'Whisky in the Jar', 'Parisienne Walkways', 'The Boys are Back in Town', and many more of Phil Lynott's genre-defying hits.

U2 tribute Rattle and Hum are the leading tribute to Ireland’s (and possibly the world’s) biggest band. The members play a stunning show covering U2’s early hits, right through to their more recent incendiary stadium rock anthems. Songs, from "Pride" to "Vertigo", "With or Without You" to "New Years Day", "One" to "Sunday Bloody Sunday" are faithfully recreated live.

The band pride themselves on recreating the experience of being at a real U2 gig. They have invested both time and money into their stage show, the sound, and the looks of the real U2. The band was recently called upon by Rock Radio 103 in Manchester to perform at their sell-out anniversary concert.

And now for a something special...opening proceedings on the night, it doesn't get any more authentic than electro-acoustic stompers Beer For Breakfast. Being a professional four piece Irish and Ceili Band, they add a welcome, genuine, traditional Celtic musical twist to an already storming lineup. The band came together from academic, semi-pro and session music backgrounds to form one of the most vibrant and lively bands on the Celtic music scene today.

Expect rousing renditions of the 'Wild Rover', 'Fairytale of New York' and 'Liverpool Lou', as well as some stirring instrumental jigs and reels.
