Now is the time to put the pressure on Trader Joe's!! The space on the bottom floor of the new College Station is ideal for a Trader Joe's:

Many of you have participated in my online campaign:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=73665018&blogID=205817217&MyToken=86cad3d8-7974-41a6-b321-82a0099353e8

They are aware of us, but it's up to you all now.

Go here:
http://www.traderjoes.com/contact_us_selection.html

In the pop-down menu select "Location Request"... send an email with the link to the college station property... a link to the campaign... mention the new parking garages... and the new Hollywood Theatres... this is exactly the kind of location that TJ's looks for.

They have 4 stores in St. Louis... we just need to convince them there is market here... college students, west/east transplants who are well familiar with TJs and the TJ lifestyle... it's up to you now!

THANKS!!!
Lauren

Oooooh, that would be a dream come true! I'd also like to see a LUSH come to town. I guess I should keep on wishin and hopin.

I've heard how cool Trader Joe's is and all they have to offer, but why don't we just support the local companies that are offering a lot of the same things instead of bringing in another national chain. Springfield has way too many national chains. If we care so much about our town, let's keep our cash business here. Check out places like Mama Jean's (2 locations now), Global Fayre, European Market, Harter House etc, etc. Just a thought.

Of course... but TJ and Mama Jean's don't carry the same products...

It's not an either/or. It can be a both/and. We support local musicians, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go see Bob Dylan or Gillian Welch, if they come to town. Mark us down as pro-TJ

I have sent several messages to TJ over the years letting them know how perfect a test market Springfield would be. I've sent them another message.

There is a need for this type of business in the downtown area, both trendy and practical and it will help sell all those condo's.
