Who Gives Kudos:

Jim Baker once said that the Church (Christianity as a whole) is the only group that eats its wounded.  Rather disturbing imagery, but its the sad truth.  Lets all check our hearts before we decide to publish the "i told you so," "saw this one coming," "God wasn't in this" statements.  Lakeland was and is a genuine move God; the kind we have been so desperately crying out for in America.
This whole Todd thing has shown us all one grand thing:  Our leaders are humans.  Yeah, believe it or not.  They go to the bathroom on a consistent basis (as long as they're regular), put their pants on one leg at a time and are prone to the same pitfalls all of us carbon-based lifeforms are.
That being said, as a leader there definitely is a higher call to purity and holiness. "What you can get away with in the outer courts, can get you killed in the Holy place," as Rick Joyner says.  More authority, more eyes on you; hey I get that.  Todd messed up, okay.   Are we stoking up the oven and sharpening our carving knives?  Lets not.  This move of God, I believe, is now dependent on how we handle this situation.  Revival is bigger than one person and it's definitely bigger than our own mistakes.  Criticism is a killer, but love covers a multitude of sins.

thank you thank you thank you for posting this blog. in a time where there is much hurt and confusion over a matter, it's good to know that there is someone shedding light on the truth of love. what you said needs to be said more..... by all of us. already there are people posting blogs and such on just the opposite of what you've written. so thank you for writing words of love.

I couldn't agree more. I used to google people's names and couldn't believe that actual hatred and lies were being put out there by people who claimed to be protecting the body of christ. So for instance you might read a book by Rick Joyner and get impacted and go online and google his name and instead of finding out about Rick you would get a barrage of pure garbage from self proclaimed ministers of the gospel. It's all pure slander every bit of it. I quit going to the internet to look for information on different ministries. With Todd it's the same only worse if you know what I mean. Nobody is on his side. Even though he has incredible giftings all these people were carving him up and serving it hot - he's was accused of being a satan worshipper who put demons on people. His tattoos, his personality, his laugh, his Bam! everything was used to portray him as a New Age occult false prophet false miracle worker.

I went to Lakeland many times and I watched it every night on God TV. I'm here to say it's real and it's God.

I also made a decision not to sit mutely by the sidelines letting the bad blogs rule the internet. I started one called ilovetoddbentley at wordpress dot com. I personally began to challenge the bad things people were saying on some of these blogs. Especially now when the bentley family is under such attack. some of these people are even tormenting the fresh fire associates. So I have to say I'm glad that People are willing to speak out about how to love a brother who's gifted but human and so not perfect.
